How the journey works
Hama has no commercial airport. Most journeys run through Damascus, about two and a half hours south, or Latakia, about two hours west over the coastal mountains. Beirut works too and is sometimes the cheapest of the three — worth checking rather than assuming, which is what we do on every Hama enquiry.
The fare
Nobody publishes a fare to Hama, because no airline flies there. What we quote is the whole journey — the flight and the road — so you are comparing a real number against a real number.
When to travel
Hot dry summers and mild wet winters, with the Orontes and the norias at their best in spring when the water is high. April and May are the month to come, and they sit outside the summer fare peak.
