How the journey works
Most journeys run through Damascus and then east — a long drive of six hours or more — or through Qamishli and down the Euphrates. Deir ez-Zor is one of the trips where the road, not the flight, decides the day, so we plan the arrival time around it rather than booking the cheapest landing slot.
